Keep fairy shrimp eggs warm. Put under sunlight for 3-4 hours, or about two hours under light bulbs. After that, put the eggs into bottled spring water. Soak for 8-24 hours to absorb enough water.
After 8-24 hours, oxygenate water using an air store connected to an air pump (Open to low oxygen)
It will take one to two days before the eggs begin to hatch. After that start feeding food 2 times a day. One teaspoon at a time. Do not add more food to the water if you notice that the water looks cloudy and the previous food has not been eaten.
Keep the water level steady by adding more spring water as the tank water evaporates. After six to eight weeks, the fairy shrimp will begin to die off.
Keeping eggs that have not hatched
After 9 days, you can collect the eggs they have produced by suctioning the sediments off the bottom of the container (Eggs will look like tiny grains of brown sand)
Unhatched fairy shrimps are to be soaked in fresh container of water for 2 weeks.
After the two weeks, use the included filter to separate the eggs from the water. Then leave them in sunlight or air the eggs dry.
Keep eggs in a zip lock bag and store them in a cool dry place. Can be stored for one year (but the longer time the eggs are kept, the hatching rate goes down).
If you run out of food, you can use established aquarium freshwater, about 5-10 teaspoons to feed the fairy shrimp.
Fairy shrimp eggs. The first hatch is very small, they may not be visible. Do not worry about them not hatching.
If the eggs do not hatch or hatch percentage is less, you must dry them and use the method “Keeping eggs that have not hatched” again (Please refer to above)
